MISSION

"Reimagining South Asian culture for a new Los Angeles — through sound, image, and shared space."

Artronika is a collective of Los Angeles-based artists producing immersive arts programming that showcases South Asian talent and culture. Through innovative and inclusive events, we reimagine traditional music, art, and philosophy by incorporating modern technology and digital platforms.

The result is programming that educates and moves diverse audiences - not by presenting South Asian culture as artifact, but as a living, evolving creative force in one of the world's most diverse cities.

Since registering as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization in 2020, Artronika has earned support from LA County Arts and Culture,  California Arts Council, LA Department of Cultural Affairs, The Music Center of LA, and the Center for Cultural Innovation.

SONA broadcasts on nationally recognized college and community radio station, KXLU 88.9FM in Los Angeles and streaming to a global audience at kxlu.com. The program  features South Asian music from across the diaspora, locally and globally. We play well established artists in a variety of genres and also provide a platform for up-and-coming as well as less mainstream artists, exposing listeners to the full spectrum of South Asian music.

Monthly residency featuring live musicians and artists showcasing South Asian talent at Sound Dhaba, located in the Arts District of Downtown LA on the second Sunday of each month at 2pm.

An annual festival at the intersection of South Asian culture and Los Angeles community life - featuring music, dance, art, and cuisine. Over 2,000 attendees in 2026, a 4× increase from prior years. Supported by grants from the LA Department of Cultural Affairs, Office of Councilwoman Traci Park, and the Port of Long Beach. Co-produced with LA Department of Recreation & Parks.

Kabir Sutra

CHAKRAS

Art Videos

An upcoming album of original compositions inspired by the 15th-century mystic poet Kabir Das. The project awards grants and stipends to young South Asian composers, investing in the next generation of artists working at the intersection of tradition and innovation.

A seven-course Indian dining experience paired with original live music, painting, and dance; each course corresponding to one of the seven chakras. A multisensory event that uses the body's own map as cultural curriculum for diverse Los Angeles audiences.

Time-lapsed video collaborations between legendary visual artist Norton Wisdom and Executive Director Ireesh Lal — capturing the process of interpretive live painting set to eclectic soundscapes. Both documentation and artwork in themselves.

ABOUT US

Born from an
onstage collision.

Norton Wisdom and Ireesh Lal first met onstage at the original (now demolished) House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard — paint meeting brass, the visual meeting the sonic.

That collision became the founding ethos of Artronika. When the pandemic arrived in 2020, they formalized what they had been building together: a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to proving that South Asian artistic traditions are not relics to be preserved, but living languages to be spoken in new rooms.

Today Artronika receives official recognition from the office of LA Councilwoman Traci Park, has earned grants from some of California's most respected arts funders, and draws thousands to the Venice Beach boardwalk each spring for the Venice Beach HOLI Bash.

With a $100,000 fundraising goal for 2026, Artronika is ready to expand programming, increase artist stipends from recording advances through Kabir Sutra, and grow its annual flagship event, the Venice Beach HOLI Bash. DAF partnerships are central to making this next chapter possible.
